Launch Session

Contributing Author: Michael Travis, MD

Overview: This session highlights a specific task that is used in the scanner to probe the neural circuitry involved in emotion regulation. Tasks like this are being used to identify biological markers of pathophysiologic processes that may differ between BD and UD depression. The two overarching objectives of this session are: (1) To highlight the neural circuitry underlying emotion regulation; and (2) To describe how this circuitry may function differently in bipolar and unipolar depression.
